ORANGE, Calif. (July 24, 2017) –American Advisors Group (AAG), the leading reverse mortgage lender in the nation, today formally announced that it has entered into a partnership with Après, a society whose members are women looking to reenter the workforce after a period of leave. The partnership allows AAG to promote its job openings to more than 30,000 Après members. As part of the agreement, AAG pledged to hire women returning to the workforce. In return, Après provided AAG with a microsite and the ability to advertise jobs on Apresgroup.com and in its regular Après member newsletters.
“Diversity is important to AAG and many of our top producers are female loan officers,” said Katherine Mackie, AAG senior director of talent acquisition.” That’s why AAG is excited to be active partners with Après and to create opportunities for women in our workforce.”
AAG has quickly grown from about 850 employees in 2014 to more than 1,200 today. As an industry leader and also ranked as one of Orange County’s top workplaces for the past four years, AAG continues to diversify its staffing by attracting candidates through their commitment to their associates, customers and the surrounding community.
“I was a stay-at-home mom for 13 years and at 38 years old, I had to start all over,” said Suzi Cwikla, AAG reverse mortgage professional. “I was hired on at AAG in 2009 and have been here for more than eight years and I love it. AAG really believes in their employees. They motivate you and make you want to become successful in your job. Because of their guidance, training and motivation, I have become one of AAG’s most successful reverse mortgage professionals over the past five years.”
The workforce is currently 51 percent female and 49 percent male; however, there are fewer women in retail sales than men, 31 percent to 59 percent, respectively. The Après partnership is especially focused on recruiting in retail sales for this reason.
“Après commends companies like AAG for seeing the value of women reentering the workforce – women who bring a strong skillset, proven work record, reliability, and life experience,” said Co-Founder Jennifer Gefsky.
In the United States today, there are more than three million women with college or advanced degrees trying to reenter the workforce. Après provides coaching through this transition in addition to expert advice to help women better understand today’s workforce and also prepares them for the hiring process.
AAG attributes its growth and success largely to its ability to hire and retain world-class, experienced talent. With a solid group of quality staff members and a reverse mortgage industry only getting stronger with the coming generation of boomers entering retirement, AAG is poised to continue its growth and industry leadership.
